Miami Pickleball Court Guide: A Growing List of Favorite Spots to Play / by Johnny Michael

I play a lot of pickleball around Miami, so I'm keeping a running list of my favorite courts: where they are, what to expect, and when to go. I'll keep adding spots as I find them.

  1. Coconut Grove Fire Station #8

  2. Woodside Park

  3. Douglas Park

Coconut Grove Fire Station #8 :
2875 Oak Ave, Miami, FL 33133

Tucked behind City of Miami Fire Station #8 on Oak Avenue, you'll find two of the friendliest courts in the Grove. You can't reserve a court, so just show up and pickle. The firefighters have been known to jump into games too.

Quick Facts

  • Address: 2875 Oak Ave, Miami, FL 33133 (next to Fire Station #8 at 2975)

  • Courts: 2 permanent courts

  • Lights: Yes

  • Cost: Free

  • Reservations: None, it's first come, first served

  • Vibe: Great neighborhood, great people

The Story
Neighbors pushed for years to turn this old tennis court into dedicated pickleball courts, and they opened in 2023. Fun community spot and great way to meet locals.

Johnny's Take
I've played here more times than I can count. It's my go-to for drop-in games and meeting local Grovites. Bring a paddle and pack a fun attitude, and you'll make friends and get a great workout.

Woodside Park :
3701 SW 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33145

Quick Facts

  • Address: 3701 SW 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33145

  • Courts: 2 dedicated courts

  • Lights: Yes

  • Cost: Free

  • Reservations: None, just drop in with your paddle

  • Getting there: 10-minute walk from Vizcaya Metrorail. There are bike racks, plus a few parking spots on SW 1st Ave.

  • Extras: Outdoor workout equipment, a dog park, a playground and shaded pavilions

Johnny's Take
It's super cozy and newly opened in 2025. Big shade trees overlook the dog park, there's workout equipment, and the playground looks like a lot of fun for kids. The courts could use a little more shade during peak daylight hours, so go early or under the lights. I'm also hoping they add an Inter bike station here, one of the orange bikes along the Underline, to make the trip from the Metrorail even quicker.

Douglas Park
2795 SW 37th Ave, Miami 33133

Quick Facts

  • Address: 2795 SW 37th Ave, Miami, FL 33133

  • Courts: 4 pickleball courts on a tennis court (portable nets)

  • Lights: Yes

  • Cost: Free

  • Reservations: None, just drop in

  • Pickleball days: Tue, Thu, Fri and Sun

  • Community play: Tue and Thu, 5–7 PM

  • Local rules: Games to 11, and the winners stay on the court

  • Extras: A new playscape, dog parks and a shaded fitness area

Johnny's Take: Freshly updated and genuinely nice courts. Four pickleball courts share one tennis court, so the lines take a minute to sort out, and the nets are the portable kind on wheels. Stick to the posted pickle days. It sits right off busy Douglas Road, but inside it's a great athletic park, with a new playscape for kids, dog parks, and a well-shaded fitness area.
